ROME: VATICAN MUSEUMS & SAINT PETER'S BASILICA

ROME: CATACOMBS, ST.MARYMAJOR, ST.JOHN LATERAN
Visit the Basilica of Saint Mary Major and Saint John Lateran Basilica: the oldest public church in Rome as well as the highest-ranked papal major basilica. In the nearby, the Scala Sancta (the Holy Stairs): white marble steps encased in wooden ones. According to Catholic tradition, they formed the staircase leading up to the praetorium of Pontius Pilate in Jerusalem on which Jesus stepped during his Passion. After that have an access to the Catacombs of St. Callixtus, an underground burial places, outside the walls of the city, that were carved through tuff, a soft volcanic rock. FLORENCE: THE UFFIZI GALLERY
It is one of the most famous museums in the world and it is housed in the former "offices" (uffizi) of the Medici family. Our guide will show you the main artworks of the greatest artists from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance like Cimabue, Giotto, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian. You will recognize original world-famous paintings you have seen in books, magazines, and on TV close-up. Visiting Uffizi Gallery you will be able to understand why Florence was the birthplace of the Renaissance.
FLORENCE: THE ACCADEMIA GALLERY
A visit to Accademia Gallery is a total immersion. It exhibits the largest number of Michelangelo's sculptures in the world: you will learn about his most renowned work, the “David”, and other masterpieces from the Renaissance art. Accademia Gallery hosts a rich collection of early Italian painting, the collection of plaster casts and models by Lorenzo Bartolini and his student Luigi Pampaloni. The museum is also home to musical instruments that belonged to the grand dukes of Tuscany, Medici and Lorraine.


VENICE: SAINT MARK'S BASILICA
Saint Mark Basilica is probably one of the most majestic cathedrals in the world. Skip the long line with the fast-track entry ticket and discover the golden masterpiece of Byzantine art, the incredible mosaics (the Basilica has 43,000 square metres of mosaics alone!) and the marble inlays on the floors.
The Basilica's mosaics are composed of small gold tesserae of different sizes and arranged in an irregular pattern, creating a shiny, vibrant effect that is unique in the world. Its shimmering golden naves sparkle like a treasure in the heart of Venice.
VENICE: DOGE'S PALACE
This tour will guide you to the imposing Doge's Palace. In its splendid rooms, plastered and decorated, the Doge and his Council controlled the fate of the Republic of Venice. Enter the halls of power and the wonderful rooms where the Doge lived with his family; admire the incredible works of art by famous Venetian artists such as Titian and Tintoretto. Inside you will find the 'Paradise': the largest painting in the world! Be amazed by the precious details of the golden staircase, the Parliament and the inner courtyard. Your guide will take you to the Bridge of Sighs, a passageway that leads you directly to the prison cells of the Doge's Palace.


VENICE: MURANO AND BURANO ISLANDS
Enjoy a half day excursion to the two main islands of Venice Lagoon. After a fascinating boat ride in the Lagoon dominated by Nature, the first stop is Murano known throughout the world for its glassmaking Art. You will visit a Furnace to see glass products being made. During the visit you will have the opportunity to buy a piece of the local production on site. The tour will then continue towards Burano the island famous for its lace-making and for the brightly-coloured fishermens’ houses. Getting off the boat you will be in a green lane and after a short walk you will arrive to the Island main Square, a very charming place with a lot of restaurants and spots to relax. Return to Venice by water-taxi. The excursion lasts about 4 and half hours.
PISA AND THE LEANING TOWER
Pisa is located just one hour far from Florence, and it’s an ideal half day excursion. Our suggestion is to reach Pisa by coach, but if you have a lower budget it is also possible to take a regional train. The first stop in Pisa is Piazza dei Miracoli, that hosts all the most significant landmarks and the Leaning Tower. The Leaning Tower is an architectural marvel from medieval Europe, it is one of the top attractions to visit in Italy. From the moment you enter this monument, you will feel the tilt that is visible from the outside. Once you climb the 251 steps inside the Leaning Tower of Pisa, you get to witness the stunning panoramic view of the city. Out of the five different flights of stairs, you will come across two full-sized spiral staircases. The entrance ticket to the Leaning Tower, also includes the access to the Cathedral. If you don’t feel in the mood to climb the Tower, just its view from the square is stunning. Also in Pisa is suggested to have a short guided stroll in the old town, or take a pleasant coffee at the panoramic café located just behind the Tower.
